The Pulenta family has been making wine in Argentina for three generations since the arrival of Angelo Pulenta and Palmina Spinssanti in Argentina from Ancona, Italy in 1902.
Eduardo and Hugo Pulenta, run the estate today.
The fruit for this wine (100% Malbec) is from two vineyard sites planted in 1992. “La Zulema” Estate, Agrelo, in the Luján de Cuyo region is situated at 980 metres above sea level and “Vinedos Don Antonio” in the Uco Valley is at 1,200 metres.
The grapes are hand picked with a selection of the bunches and grapes in the winery.
Alcoholic fermentation is in stainless steel & concrete tanks. The malolactic fermentation is in concrete tanks. Ageing is for 6 months in 2nd and 3rd fill French oak barrels.
The wine is bright purple in appearance with a nose of strawberries, cherries, lavender and violets with hints of vanilla in the background. On the palate, it is ripe and juicy with soft tannins and lively acidity.
