Quinta do Vallado, established in 1716, is one of the oldest and most famous “Quintas” in the Douro Valley and is today run by the sixth generation of the Ferreira family.
It lies on both banks of the Corgo River, a tributary of the Douro river, near its mouth, close to the town of Peso da Régua.
A blend based on Touriga Roriz, Touriga Amarela and Touriga Franca, the wine has been aged in old, 600 litre casks.
The wine has a lovely amber appearance with a nose full of toffee and vanilla notes with dried fruit and some tobacco hints. The palate is elegant, rich and smooth with a very long finish.
Bottled in 2015.
