Established in 1858 and based in Pokolbin, New South Wales, Tyrrell’s are a medium sized family business with vineyards in the Hunter Valley, Limestone Coast and Heathcote, and export to more than 50 countries around the world.
Tyrrell’s Old Winery range is named after its historic winery in the Hunter Valley, built in 1863 for the first vintage in 1864. A classic range of wines produced using fruit from premium Australian wine regions, Old Winery delivers distinctive varietal character and outstanding quality synonymous with the Tyrrell’s name.
The grapes for this wine are sourced from premium Hunter Valley vineyards. After machine harvesting in the cool of the night, the grapes were lightly pressed and thejuice was then fermented at relatively cool temperatures. The wine then received some French oak maturation and spent an extended time on yeast lees to add further texture and complexity.
A medium bodied wine with aromas of stone fruit and subtle vanillin oak. The palate is generously flavoured with white peach citrus characters and a clean, crisp finish
