Pol Roger Brut Réserve is a blend in equal parts of the three champenois grape varieties: Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay, from 30 different crus (vineyard sites) from at least 2 vintages with an additional 25% older reserve wine added.
The different varieties come from distinct areas within the Champagne region.
The Pinot Noir brings structure, body and power and is mainly produced from some of the best crus of the Montagne de Reims to the north of the region whilst the Pinot Meunier (ensuring freshness, roundness and fruitiness) is from several crus from the more central Vallée de la Marne and from the Epernay area. Finally, the Chardonnay, (providing aromatic complexity, finesse, elegance and lightness) comes from Epernay and some of the best crus of the southern Côte des Blancs.
After four years ageing in Pol Roger’s cellars in Epernay, its style combines complexity, balance and distinction. A delightful balance of power and elegance. Maybe the wine trade’s favourite NV, certainly mine!
